FIND YOUR FAITH
Since he was a child, devotion and faith were intense manifestations of Dr. Leonardo Pacheco's personality. As an adult and after many years of emigration to Canada, he managed to build his hermitage so that his experience of faith would be complete. The hermitage of
São Pedro Gonçalves Telmo is a milestone in his life and, such is the beauty, dedication and devotion, Dr. Leonardo Pacheco is delighted to contribute with his chapel built in love, faith and light to the community of the Azores, mainland Portugal and all emigrants around the world, knowing how hard it is to be an emigrant.
The Ermida São Pedro Gonçalves Telmo has its doors open to everyone, it does not discriminate and only wants whoever enters to leave as a better person, imbued with the Christian spirit.

RTP AÇORES Inauguração da Ermida São Pedro Gonçalves 16 Julho 2011 Caloura
This family chapel, owned by Dr. Leonardo Pacheco and Walter Fisher Pacheco and located in Canada do Cinzeiro, Caloura, was built from scratch in 2011, with the blessing of Bishop D. António de Sousa Braga and the Diocese of Angra do Heroísmo.
This temple displays fragments of Baroque from the 16th and 17th centuries and its façade is dominated by black and grey, which is common in Azorean churches. The chapel is full of unique details, one of the most important being the reliquary with a fragment of the saint, Saint Pedro Gonçalves Telmo, which came from Tui-Vigo and was offered by the bishop, with his blessing, His Excellency D. Luís Quinteiro Fiúza, in Spain, where the mortal remains of this saint are kept.
The stained glass windows that illuminate this temple also have a history associated with them, as they were offered as a promise or as a form of devotion, as do the extraordinary paintings on its ceiling. There is also a vase of vestments, chalices, pyxes, monstrances, reliquaries, holy wood, 14 cloaks of the Lord Holy Christ and many other objects of devotion.
Visit us and feel the love, devotion and faith present in every detail of this magnificent chapel.
