Our Lady of Sorrows

O God, You chose the Azores as the birthplace of Your servant Mother Teresa of the Annunciation, whom, by Your grace, You permitted to practice the most heroic virtues from childhood, especially a lively faith, an angelic purity and an ardent charity. Grant that the halo of the Saints may shine upon her brow, if this be for Your greater glory and the honor of Holy Mother Church.

O Jesus, whom we call the Holy Christ of Miracles, You who chose Your servant Teresa of the Annunciation as an instrument to make You known and loved, and thus opened to the multitudes who gather around Your Venerable Image the abundance of Your graces, we ask You for the solemn proclamation, by the Church, of the sanctity of this Your servant, as a model of life that must be practiced.

Virgin Lady of Mercy, obtain, we beseech Thee, from Thy Divine Son the distinguished grace of exaltation to the altars of Thy devoted Teresa of the Annunciation, who loved Thee so tenderly.

Seraphic Saint Francis of Assisi, obtain from God, in favor of Your Daughter Teresa da Anunciada, the honor of being elevated to the altars, so that the Azorean people, by honoring her, may draw closer to God and thus live the spirit of simplicity and love of which you were an example on Earth.

Amen.
